About Us
The Taylor Road Orchestra is comprised of 6th, 7th and 8th grade students, under the direction of Ms. Gabriella Paul-Nally. This group of talented young musicians is committed to excellence and focused on producing quality performances, building lasting relationships, and having valuable musical experiences. The Taylor Road Orchestra has established a tradition of outstanding achievement, consistently earning superior ratings at GMEA performance evaluations since the school opened in 1990. This ensemble has also performed at numerous venues in and around metropolitan Atlanta, including the Governor’s Mansion, the Georgia State Capitol, the Red Clay Theatre, and the Centennial Olympic Park July 4th Celebration. Several students perform in ensembles outside the school, including the GMEA All-State Orchestras, Solo & Ensemble festivals, Fulton County Youth Orchestra, American String Teacher’s Association camps, Upbeat Camps, youth symphonies, and various other organizations. The students meet 50 minutes daily with their respective grade level.
The TRMS Orchestra has 3 words that sum up our goal for our students: Community, Family, and Success.
Community: The TRMS Orchestra uses their talents to serve the people around them. We have performed at assisted living facilities, Veteran's Day ceremonies, and several other events around the Johns Creek area. We use music to inspire and connect with those around us.
Family: Not only is the Orchestra full of different sized instruments, we are a diverse collective of students from all cultures and backgrounds. Everyone is welcome in orchestra, and we pride ourselves on building lasting relationships through musical experiences! We have 4 groups: 6th Grade, 7th Grade, and 8th Grade orchestra, as well as our Fiddle Group.
We unite together to make beautiful music!
Success: The Taylor Road Orchestra focuses on success of our ensembles, but also individuals. The Taylor Road Orchestra has consistently earned Superior ratings at LGPE and has been invited twice to perform at the GMEA Conference. In addition, we have many students that try out for the All-State orchestra and community orchestra with a high rate of success. We value recognizing success on every level, from the moment a student can hold their instrument in 6th Grade, to their final concert in 8th Grade! As Beethoven once said, "To play a wrong note is insignificant; to play without passion is inexcusable." We aim to inspire passion and a lifelong love of music within our students.
Elementary music programs that feed into Taylor Road Middle School are Abbotts Hill Elementary, Findley Oaks Elementary, Lake Windward Elementary, State Bridge Crossing Elementary, and Ocee Elementary.
The Taylor Road Orchestras receive support from Principal Kelly Parker and the staff of Taylor Road Middle School, as well as parent volunteers, and the Johns Creek community.
